“The Catskills Resorts from the Perspective of a Borscht Belt Waiter”
This power point presentation is all about the famous resort area where many thousands of New York City Jews vacationed in the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. This area of the Catskill mountains just 2 hours from the hustle and bustle of New York City was known as the “Borscht Belt” because the food served in the resorts was that of the Eastern European Jewish immigrants who frequented the area. Many Palm Beach County residents worked in the area as waiters, bus boys, bell hops, lifeguards etc.
The entertaining 45-minute presentation includes nostalgic pictures, videos, music and comedy which are recognizable and heartwarming to people in their 60’s 70’s and 80’s who enjoyed the Catskill Mountain experience with their families.
